Tissue oil is one of those essentials we all need in our beauty bags. It’s one of those invaluable secrets that women pass down the generations, especially when the effects of ageing start to show. For most of us, it’s a go-to when it comes to diminishing the appearance of stretch marks, softening the skin and soothing it when we’ve had too much sun. But there’s so much more that this magical elixir can do. We went in search of innovative ways to get the most out of your tissue oil.
Make Your Own Botanical Bath Oil
Get creative and make your own concoction of bath herbs. We suggest crushing some lavender, patchouli and rose petals with a pestle and mortar. Then add five to six drops of tissue oil to the mixture and blend. Crush in some Epsom salts for added muscle relaxation. Toss in a few blooms and soak it up while you escape into your favourite book. Remember, if you are pregnant, check whether the herbs you choose are safe to use before adding them to your bath.
Soften the Shave
Shaving can sometimes cause subtle surface damage to the skin, resulting in dryness, redness and itching. Tissue oil makes a great after-shave balm alternative, and when combined with an anti-bacterial ingredient, it’s even better. Mix three drops of tissue oil with two to three drops of diluted tea tree oil, rub it into your palms and massage into your skin in the direction of the hair growth. This combination is perfect for preventing dryness and post-shaving breakouts. We recommend using this trick on your underarms and legs. For your delicate bikini line, use only a drop of diluted tea tree oil in the mixture.
Moisturise Your Scalp
Tissue oil is a great way to relieve dryness and itchiness on your scalp. DIY your way to a healthy scalp and tangle-free hair by mixing approximately ten drops of tissue oil with ten drops of coconut oil and massaging it into your scalp. Comb through for even results. For a quick refresher, add two to three drops of peppermint essential oil.

Justine Tissue Oil was developed in 1973 with South African skin in mind. It was the result of rigorous scientific testing and was the first of its kind in South Africa. Its formula contains botanically-derived ingredients such as Vitamin E, Sweet Almond Oil and Corn Germ Oil.

Corn Germ Oil is an effective way to infuse the skin with natural nutrients. When combined, these powerful ingredients work together to nourish, condition and protect skin.
Consumer studies have proven that Justine Tissue Oil produces results in just 24 hours and reduces redness caused by sun exposure in just two days. Based on a consumer study, four out of five women who used Justine Tissue Oil saw an improvement in the appearance of scars, stretch marks, sun damage and skin firmness in just 14 days. A clinical report showed that the skin’s elasticity also increases. Flawless skin awaits.
