Q: How can I keep my skin healthy and hydrated during winter?

A: Winter can be taxing on your looks, from your hair becoming brittle and breaking, to chapped lips crying out for help. With these easy tips, your skin can have a cool winter and you can cut your summer recovery in half.

1. Hyaluronic acid loading

Make sure your skincare products contain hyaluronic acid. It acts as a moisture magnet in the skin, leaving it looking radiant and feeling softer. Bye, bye dry skin.

2. Lip service

Lips take a vicious beating in winter, and even after applying layers of lip balm, they can still be dry. Try using a little eye cream – the skin on your lips is just as delicate as the skin around your eyes, so a hydrating eye cream or serum will help keep it soft and moisturised. A bit of face oil on the lips also does the trick.

3. Use a cleansing oil in the evenings

This is not only one of the best ways to remove make-up at the end of the day, but it also gives your skin a dose of essential oils and a moisture fix just before you sleep.

4. Ditch foundation for a tinted moisturiser

I find that tinted moisturisers pack more of a punch than foundations in terms of SPF, hydration and coverage, making them my preferred choice in the colder months. Get your hands on a tinted moisturiser or serum foundation – the key is combining your make-up needs with skincare. Yes to killing two birds with one stone!
