Coachella is one of the world’s most anticipated annual music festivals. It is so popular, in fact, that it’s held over two weekends, with the same line-up each week just to be able to accommodate all the people who want to attend. The fest is primarily about the music, but it has also become a place where trendsetters gather and showcase what’s going to be hot over the upcoming northern hemisphere summer. Beauty-wise, 2018 was the year of hair and here are the five trends you can expect to see everywhere.

1. Space buns

This late-90s trend is back and it’s just as cute as we remember it. Buns can be any size and you can tie up all your hair, like Millie Bobby Brown, or leave some loose. Either way is pretty, youthful and so 2018.

2. Soft waves

This hair look will never go out of style, because it’s easy to do, looks totally effortless and can be recreated on most hair types. And nothing says ‘festival vibes’ quite like an effortless style, right?

3. Bold colours

Colourful hair – from neon brights to soft pastels – is going to continue to be très cool for the upcoming season and beyond, so you can work your way through the entire colour wheel if you are up for the challenge.

4. Ponytails

Celebs such as Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Cardi B all rocked ponytails at Coachella in different variations. High, low, scraped back, all up or some down, ponies are the most practical of this season’s hair trends. And we LOVE practical.

5. Glitter roots

Thought this messy (and not very eco-conscious) trend had been left behind in 2017? You’d be wrong. Clearly people don’t mind the itching and discomfort, because this look isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Get ready to shine!
