As much as we love summer, the warmer weather can get in the way of our beauty goals. Not only do you have to keep your make-up look in place, but you also have to make sure your hair looks on point. One way to battle that awkward hair-on-neck situation? Pull it back. We show you how to achieve three classic updos with Pantene’s new Pro-V formula with added histidine so that you can go about your day comfortably.

Step 1: Create a side part using a rattail comb. Take an uneven amount of hair from the front of the hairline and comb it to the one side.

Step 2: Apply a mattifying gel to slick back the hair.

Step 3: Comb your hair back into a tight, slick ponytail perfect for a fuss-free, sleek summer look.

Step 1: Apply hairspray to dry hair or apply a hair serum for moisture.

Step 2: Curl the front parts of your hair and tie the rest back into a low ponytail (leaving the front bits loose).

Step 3: Twist the tied-up hair into a low bun at the nape of your neck and secure any loose hair with bobby pins.

Step 4: Take the front sections of the loose hair, pin them back and secure with bobby pins. Tug on certain sections of the hair to get the placement you want.

Step 5: Finally, set the hair with gel to keep everything in place.

The Braided Updo

Step 1: Use a rattail comb to create a middle parting in your hair.

Step 2: Plait a french braid on either side of your head, starting from the front and work your way backwards. Secure the ends with an elastic band.

Step 3: Wrap the left-sided braid back into a bun and secure the bun using bobby pins.

Step 4: Wrap the right-sided braid around the bun you just created and secure the bun.

Step 5: Cautiously pull on the front portions of the braids to loosen the hair and to create a more tousled look.

Step 6: Complete the look by applying a generous amount of hairspray.
