2. Candi&Co. Salon

If you don’t know about Candi&Co, where have you been? The likes of Lulama Wolf, Crystal Kasper and Nomzamo Mbatha have all been ‘candi-coated’ by the salon’s expert hairstylists and nail technicians. The salon specialises in ethnic hair, offering customers looks that vary from braids, crochet braids and twists to weaves, wigs and relaxers.

3. Lajawi Beaute Café

Jawad Maphoto is the man behind Lajawi Beaute Cafe, a trendy salon located at the heart of Melrose. He’s cultivated a strong following with celebrity A-listers including Bonang, Amanda Black and Nandi Madida.

4. Phophotha Hair Boutique

Durban-based Phophotha Hair Boutique is known for its gorgeous weaves and wigs, as well as its excellent make-up artists. Former Isibaya star Linda Mtoba is the brand’s hair ambassador. Her Instagram feed is filled with an array of looks all created by Phophotha.

Situated in Nairobi, Amadiva Beauty offers affordable yet premium services. Since its opening, the salon has steadily risen to be one of the best in the region. Even Kwena Baloyi had one of her iconic looks done there.
