The best way to get in the mood for Valentine’s Day? A holiday themed manicure. We admit it’s a little bit cheesy, but who doesn’t want some cheese on the day of love? This classy and cute mani has the added bonus of being super easy. Even if you’ve never tried nail art, you’ll be able to get this look in 10 minutes flat!
What you’ll need:
A print out of pre-sized hearts, like the one below.
Essence Studio Nails XXL Nail Protector – R34.95
Essie Nail Colour in Mademoiselle – R125
Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat – R110
A bowl of vodka or rubbing alcohol
Step 1: Print out the sheet of hearts and cut out the hearts, making sure you cut the bottom into a V-shape. This will help you place it precisely at the bottom of your nail.
Step 2: Apply one coat of Essence Studio Nails XXL Nail Protector. This is your base coat, which will protect your nails. Allow to dry completely.
Step 3: Now apply two coats of pale pink nail polish. We love Essie Nail Colour in Mademoiselle. Don’t let your nails dry completely but they also shouldn’t smudge if you lightly touch them. This is so that the heart will fully transfer.
Step 4: Drench one heart in the vodka or rubbing alcohol. Line up the nail print-out, ink side down, with the V-shaped point at the center of the base of you nail. Press down lightly and evenly for 10 seconds. Slowly lift off the paper. Repeat for the other 9 nails.
Step 5: Wait for the vodka or rubbing alcohol to evaporate then, if necessary, dip your nails in water to remove any leftover paper residue.
Step 6: Finish off with Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat.
