As seen in shows in New York, Milan, Paris and London, yellow is making a major comeback, and we show you how to make it work for all skin tones.

Pick the right tone for you

Yellow is a vibrant colour and to get the most out of it you need to ensure you choose a shade that complements your skin tone. Mustard and deep yellows complement both dark and light skin tones best, while pastel yellows work better on fairer skin types. Medium-to-olive skin tones should stick to bright and vibrant yellows.

On the eyes

Don’t be afraid to play with colour. Go bright and bold with your eyeshadow.

For an intensely pigmented effect, try MAC Eye Shadow X 9/Tropic Cool Times Nine in Lemon Rush (R590), or  INGLOT Eyeshadow #60 (R89) . Apply haphazardly over the lids for a fun and dramatic effect. Add a touch of shiny gloss with MAC Yellow Jacket Lipglass (R230) for a sleek look. To create a geometric effect, use MAC Colour Play Chromagraphic Pencil in Primary Yellow R250.
