This weekend (as well as Thursday night) the annual SAFTAS took place at Sun City. While everyone in attendance look fabulous, here are the eight women who really stood out for all the right reasons.

1. Rouge

If you didn’t know who Rouge was before, you will now, and not just because she bagged an award. Her voluminous hairstyle, with red on one side and black down the other – and perfectly symmetrical to boot – gave us, and probably everyone else, some serious #hairgoals. So perfect.

2. Enhle Mbali

Actor Enhle really went all out when it came to her ensemble this year. As if the puffy-pink and embellished dress wasn’t enough, she also added a pastel flower arrangement to her hair. Maybe this is the 2018 version of the flower crown. Watch this space.

3. Thuso Mbedu

Thuso recently landed herself a lead role in local soapie Generations: The Legacy, and that’s not the only reason she has to smile. She can also smile because her make-up was so on point this weekend – the red-lip-navy-eye combo brought all the drama to the red carpet.

4. Lunathi Mampofu

We love the matte red lip that Lunathi sported at this year’s SAFTAS, but it was her hair that really got our, and everyone else’s, attention. Her fierce hair was perfectly juxtaposed to the tight black suit she wore, bringing some new-wave glamour to the red carpet.

5. Nambitha Ben-Mazwi

Sleek high ponytails are all the rage at the moment – something that Nambitha clearly knows. Hers was done up into a thick plait, which not only looked fresh, but also kept her hair back so we could look at her face, which was positively glowing.

6. Sheli Nyathi-Masondo

So we get it, long locks are trending. But this is some next-level Rapunzel hair with a twist, and is so avant-garde: bright-white tresses made into a bubble ponytail, and paired with a buzzcut on the top and sides? More of this, please!

7. Nomzamo Mbatha

Actress and former-MC cover star Nomzamo shone bright like the star she is at this weekend’s ceremony. Not only did her dress make all jaws hit the floor but, also, her chic updo, which was finished off with a dainty braid and shell, was the epitome of modern elegance.

8. Khanyi Mbau

This diva usually makes sure all eyes are on her, and she once again succeeded in doing this with her outfit at this year’s SAFTAS. Her long, wavy hair and dark-red lip was perfect for the red carpet. Her eyes we couldn’t see, as they were covered in diamanté-embellished sunnies, but they were pretty luxe. Who needs eyeshadow when you’ve got shades this good?
