1. Thuso Mbedu nominated for her second Emmy award!

The actress has been nominated in the international Best Actress category for her role in the second season of Mzansi Magic drama, Is’thunzi.

Thuso shared the news with this Tweet saying: “A 2-time International Emmy nominee 😢@iemmys. Wow.”

2. Thando Thabethe surprises fan with red carpet gown for matric dance

In March this year, the Thabooty drive host announced that she would be gifting three young women three of her awards dresses for their matric dances. All they had to do was pay it forward by uplifting another young woman.

3. Bonang, Demi-Leigh and Tamaryn takes over NYC

Bonang killed it at NYFW and was given the International Achievement Recognition Award (IARA) for Best Media Personality of 2018 this week. Now she can add lead moderator at the UN General Assembly to her list of September achievements. The media personality lead Global Citizen’s ‘Leave No Girl Behind’ discussion alongside panelists French president Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

She joins Miss South Africa 2018, Tamaryn Green, who gave a speech at the 73rd UN General Assembly for the TB Innovation Summit, which was the ‘first ever United Nations High-Level Meeting on Tuberculosis’.

Miss Universe 2017, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters also appeared at the UN in New York to honour the unveiling of a Nelson Mandela statue, which is a gift from South Africa to the UN.


4. Pearl Thusi inspires the crowd at Global Citizen summit

On Tuesday Pearl Thusi left the crowd inspired after she spoke at the Global Citizen She Is Equal Summit in New York.  Pearl’s speech centered on gender equality in Africa.

5. DJ Zinhle’s new TV gig

The DJ and entrepreneur announced yesterday that she will be joining SABC 1’s DJ-Producer talent search show, 1’s and 2’s, as a judge.
