In January Kensington Palace announced that Princess Eugenie of York, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, was engaged to nightclub manager Jack Brooksbank after several years of dating. And now it’s official! Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank took place today at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle (the same place Harry and Meghan had their wedding).
Here are the highlights of the beautiful day – from the dress to the guests and the most touching moments of the royal wedding ceremony.
1. Oh, the dress
Princess Eugenie’s off-the-shoulder, deep v-neck dress was designed by Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos and accessorised with emerald and diamond earrings. The sheer brocade fabric gathered behind her back into a (very) long train.
2. Princess Eugenie’s wedding tiara
The princess topped it all of with a Margaret Greville emerald Tiara. Eugenie’s engagement ring features a pink Padparadscha Sapphire, so clearly she has a penchant for gems over traditional all-diamond jewellery (the exact opposite of Meghan Markle’s engagement ring and tiara).
3. Guest fashion hits
The royal wedding guests featured a diverse mix of royals and celebs. The cousins of Princess Eugenie, Princes William and Harry, were obviously there, together with the Duchesses Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. The who’s-who of celebrities were invited, including Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cara and Poppy Delevingne, Ellie Goulding, Liv Tyler, Demi Moore and Robbie Williams.
The model and actress opted for a tailored suit with tails and a top hat which, we must say, is probably our favourite outfit so far.
The Duchess wore a hat by Philip Treacy and a maroon dress by Alexander McQueen (the same designer who she wore to Meghan Markle’s wedding in May).
Meghan wore a royal blue Givenchy (the same designer who did her wedding dress) fitted knee-length dress, covered up with a (loose-fitting, we might add) coat. Now speculation is rife that she’s pregnant.
Naomi wowed in a black fascinator, with a checkered black-and-grey fade dress and shawl, fringed with feather detailing.
4. The wind vs fascinators
The royal wedding guests held onto their hats, but the wind won the battle.
Among its victims was Robbie Williams’ mother-in-law Gwen, who almost lost hers there for a second.

5. Princess Eugenie’s husband’s odd middle name
Jack what Brooksbank? During the reading, The Dean of Windsor called Eugenie’s husband-to-be by a foreign name, which surely confused a few people. This was the first time Jack’s middle name was revealed in public, and it is … Stamp. Many of us can empathise with middle names that’s a bit out there (although for us it will not become world-wide public knowledge).
6. Princess Eugenie did not promise to ‘obey’ Jack
The Order of Service revealed prior to the ceremony that Eugenie would not be promising to obey her husband, something Meghan Markle also opted out of saying, during her vows. Did you notice the absence of this vow? We did.
7. Prince George and Princess Charlotte as page boy and girl
The cute-as-a-button heirs to the throne were joined by Louis de Givenchy (son of JP Morgan banking executive Olivier de Givenchy); cousins Savannah and Isla Phillips (daughters of Autumn and Peter Phillips); Zara and Mike Tindall’s daughter Mia; Robbie Williams’ daughter Theodora; and Eugenie’s goddaughter Maud Windsor (daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor).

8. Tears, glances and a public kiss
Jack had to remove his glasses to dry his eyes after he burst into tears upon spotting Princess Eugenie entering St George’s Chapel for their wedding ceremony. The emotional reaction was beyond touching.

Throughout the ceremony Jack and Eugenie couldn’t stop peeking at each other and while leaving the church to their carriage procession, the smiling couple shared a quick public kiss to the cheering crowd.
We wish the newlyweds all the best!
