According to Entertainment Tonight, Rihanna has turned down an invite to perform at the 2019 Super Bowl, in support of Colin Kaepernick. Refinery29 says the superstar singer and creator of Fenty Beauty refused the opportunity to perform during the halftime show due to the NFL’s reaction to players kneeling in protest during the American national anthem:

Former American football quarterback Colin Kaepernick knelt during the anthem in 2016 to protest police brutality and racial inequality in the USA. The NFL initially responded by saying players who knelt during the anthem would be fined, although this policy was suspended in July.
