Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced last week that they were expecting a baby, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expected to welcome their newborn in the spring of 2019.

‘My warmest congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the happy news that they are expecting a baby in the spring. Wishing them all the best,’ announced Prime Minister Theresa May, while Sadiq Khan made the announcement, ‘On behalf of Londoners, I want to send our heartfelt congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the happy news that they are expecting their first child. Congratulations!’

Naturally, the extended family spoke out about their excitement at the future arrival. But it wasn’t just the royals, with Meghan’s estranged relatives from the Markle side also getting involved…

One person to add their voice to the news was Meghan’s estranged half-sister, Samantha Grant, who it seems has never missed an opportunity to bash the former Suits actress, even claiming earlier this year that when their father died, it would be Meghan’s fault.

Following her vicious remarks, Samantha issued a formal (and very dramatic) apology last month, but now she has broken her silence, releasing a statement on the royal pregnancy.

‘It just makes everything that happened over the last year disappear,’ Samantha explained of the pregnancy. ‘I want Meghan to be happy and calm and have peace. Everybody needs to be positive.’

However, she continued, referencing her disappointment that the Markle family were left out of the statement by Kensington Palace.

‘I would hope that – for the sake of the baby, the family, the world and my dad – that leaving him out of the statement was not intentional,’ she explained. ‘I hope my dad is included and at a proper time. If he is excluded, I won’t be happy. It is in the best interests of the baby for my dad to be included.’

Well, no one is surprised.
