Awards season is here and brings with it new red carpet looks, trends and all the glitz and glam we’ve come to know and love. And the Golden Globes are no exception. The beautiful people brought it on the red carpet, some looks had us gawking, some had us giggling and others left us in tears. What kind of tears? We’re not exactly sure but it was definitely a feast for our eyes. Even though we felt that everyone was a winner, we’ve managed to narrow it down to our favourite looks.

1. Viola Davis in Michael Kors

This sunshine-yellow Michael Kors gown looks incredible on Viola Davis. The colour and minimal accessories complement each other very well. Well played Miss Keating, well played.

2. Mandy Moore in Naeem Khan

Mandy Moore stuns in this regal ink gown that takes our breath away. Those sleeves are everything.

3. Anna Kendrick in Vionnet

This pleated greige number is definitely a wonderful broody take on the ‘Grecian goddess’ gown. The asymmetric details are simply flawless.

4. Tracee Ellis Ross in Zuhair Murad

Who said that your dress should be lengthy and bold? Sometimes keeping things short and sweet is the best way to go. This gown has enough beautiful detailing to keep us satisfied.

5. Lily Collins in Zuhair Murad

If we had to give out the award for the best princess-inspired look it would go to Lily Collins. This rose-embroidered gown had us all feeling some type of way. And dare we even talk about that red lip?

6. Kerry Washington, in Dolce & Gabbana

This one left us speechless. This gold baroque-inspired dress is exactly what the Golden Globes calls for. Gothic lip? Check. Sultry length? Check. Gold lace? Check. All the right ingredients for an unbelievable look.

7. Chrissy Metz in Nathan Paul

Breakout star of the TV show This Is Us, Chrissy Metz looks spectacular wearing a deep-purple velvet dress. The embellishment and drapery add lovely texture to this gorgeous gown. No accessories needed.

8. Goldie Hawn in Prabal Gurung

We have to give it to Goldie Hawn. We all wish we will look this good at 71! This metallic off-the-shoulder dress is humble and sophisticated.

9. Evan Rachel Wood in Altuzarra

This is what we call a tuxedo. The jacket. The waistcoat. The elegance. Evan Rachel Wood is untouchable in this ultra-sophisticated look. Its the perfect androgynous balance of masculine and feminine.

10. Blake Lively in Atelier Versace

Mrs. Ryan Reynolds gets a standing ovation in this gold and velvet combination.
