Have a look at what went on behind-the-scenes of our adventure in Pretville, where we shot our September “The Doll House” fashion editorial.
Marie Claire’s fashion team stumbled across the small 1950s-inspired film set in the heart of Hartiwood in Hartebeespoort. We knew instantly that spring-summer’s major prints and pastel trends had to be shot against this idyllic, picturesque town for our September fashion issue.
With a full team in tow and armed with rails of the latest clothes, shoes and accessories, we were inspired to get started on the new season’s story.
Our favourite hairstylist Saadique Ryklief chose to use Diva Divine hair pieces to create a modern take on the ’50s look. He snipped, curled, blew-out and dyed each magnificent hair piece making us want to jump on to the bouffant band-wagon too. As for make-up, Liz van der Merwe took the lead and showed us how to make lady-like a little sexier with a bold cat eye and serious lashes.
In between hair and make-up, outfit changes, shooting and editing down we did get to have some rest at the friendliest boutique hotel in town. Three Oaks and an Aloe is the perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway – definitely one for the little black book!
Thank you to everyone who came on-board to make this shoot possible, let us know your thoughts!
