She has been in front of the camera for nearly 60 years. Daphne Selfe is currently the oldest model in the world at 83-years-old. Until now, model China Machado, was the oldest model in the world at 81.

She told The Daily Mail how she feels about modelling at 80+:

“Despite being convinced that this second bite at my career wouldn’t last more than a couple of years, I’m still working. Now, I’ve worked with some of the very best photographers, including Mario Testino for Dolce & Gabbana, and Rankin, who nearly fell off his chair when I said I was 73. ‘I thought you were 53!’ he said.

I thrive on variety. I loved being in Will Young’s video for Light My Fire in 2002, as much as doing catwalks at London Fashion Week and in Milan for D&G again. My taste is no more expensive now than it ever was. I love the clothes I wear for shoots, but they are usually inappropriate for a woman of my age. I couldn’t wear them to the shops. My favourite item in my wardrobe is a mauve cardigan I bought in 1971.  At 80, you do have to pace yourself, but I have no plans to retire. Models and actresses don’t do that – they just wait for the phone to stop ringing. It hasn’t yet.”
