Lauryn Hill is coming to South Africa!

You know how some international artists conduct entire world tours without visiting a single country in Africa, as if our continent isn’t a part of the world? Well, not Grammy Award-winning artist Lauryn Hill, who has just added a South Africa date to her recently announced world tour. The tour is in celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, her award-winning debut solo album that was released in 1998.

With the Soul Fest Experience featuring the likes of TLC and Dru Hill concluding last night in Cape Town, ’90s music lovers are really enjoying a long-awaited music throwback, and this ‘Doo Wop’ singer is adding to the joy.

She will take to the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg on 2 February 2019. We all essentially have 48 hours to gather our coins for tickets, which go on sale to the general public on Friday 7 September at 9am from Big Concerts. Discovery cardholders have one-up on everybody else, though, as they can already purchase tickets today, 5 September, on an exclusive 48-hour pre-sale. In addition to this, there will be VIP packages available online for a limited period of time. These will include a photo op with Ms Hill, a chance to watch a portion of the show from the wings of the stage, plus a special selection of merchandise.

According to Channel24, a portion of Lauryn Hill’s ticket sales will go towards ‘the MLH Fund, which directly contributes support for education, health, agriculture, technology and community-based business development initiatives throughout the Diaspora.’

For all the South African jet setters who might be in Europe in the very near future, you can look forward to seeing the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill during the November/December period in Brussels, France, UK, Ireland, Holland, Denmark, Sweden and Denmark.
