On Tuesday, Ivanka joined her father, President Donald Trump, in welcoming Canadian Prime Minister and full-time Hugh Grant-lookalike Justin Trudeau to the White House for his first meeting with the POTUS.

Their get-together—the first council meeting for a new U.S./Canadian organization working towards “advancing women in business”—gave the world this amazing photo of Ivanka looking at international dreamboat Trudeau. She’s thinking about maple syrup, you just know it.

People were even less amused, though, when Ivanka shared a photo on her social media accounts that showed her sitting in the Oval Office in a chair that is generally reserved for the president, and the president only.
A lot of people thought it was extremely inappropriate.
@IvankaTrump it’s inappropriate for you to be in those meetings and seated at that desk. You are not the POTUS

A great discussion with two world leaders about the importance of women having a seat at the table! pic.twitter.com/AtiSiOoho0

Did the US elect Ivanka Trump as President? Why is she sitting at one of the world’s most iconic desk?

Ivanka wants all little girls to know: Make sure your rich daddy also had a rich daddy so you can pretend nepotism is activism, too! https://t.co/uTlRvSON0D

What’s Ivanka’s role in the government again? https://t.co/FBfxr1JVOZ

Others, however, applauded the caption of the photo and took it as a step forward for women.
@IvankaTrump Love the father-daughter relationship you both share! I’m blessed having same with my daughter. (She’s sat at my desk b4 2)
