Last night the 12th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) took off on a high note in Sun City. Night one was all about celebrating the behind the scenes craftsmanship of bringing the film industry to life. This was acknowledged by NFVF CEO Zama Nkosi, who said ‘it’s important for the industry to celebrate people who play a crucial role in the journey of creating the magic we see on the screens daily.’ Several women in the film industry scooped Golden Horn Awards at the SAFTAS 2018 and we’d like to give them a special mention today.

The theme for this year is ‘Our Stories Are Gold’, and Zama added that last night’s winners are ‘an integral part of translating South Africa’s golden stories into entertaining and thought-provoking conversation pieces.’
