UNICEF and the LEGO group are hosting a Build the Change event this November in South Africa, and we’re excited that Jo-Ann Strauss will be supporting this important initiative. Build the Change inspires children to use their imagination in a way that fosters their creativity and encourages social interaction, while promoting the idea of learning through play. The South African event is one of four Build the Change events around the world (South Africa, UK, Mexico and China).

This creative exhibit will showcase the importance of play for developing the skills 21st century children need. Model, public speaker and mom Jo-Ann, will support this Children’s Day initiative as a Early Childhood Development Advocate and UNICEF s Goodwill Ambassador for South Africa.

UNICEF and LEGO® will bring the event to the Cape Town Science Museum from 5 to 10 November. The experience aims to give children a voice and enables them to use LEGO® bricks to express themselves, communicate and create. Open to the public and schools, it’s aimed at children between 8 and 10 years old.

The main idea is to build your dream school, in which play, creativity and fun are part of everything you do. The facilitated experience will include a building challenge and learning through play.
