The SA Lingerie fashion show isn’t all about glitz and glamour. This year, the event has bigger ambitions. The theme of the 2015 show is ‘Warrior Women’: women who use their immense inner strength to overcome life’s obstacles. Marie Claire and SA Lingerie have teamed up with Pink Drive, South Africa’s leading breast-cancer charity, to lend a hand to the warrior women throughout South Africa who are battling breast cancer.
Pink Drive’s mission is to spread the word on breast-cancer awareness, using mobile trucks to offer testing and early detection facilities to women across the country.
For many women, the struggle against breast cancer is a lonely one. They travel long distances to receive treatment, often spending hours sitting in waiting rooms alone, with very few supplies or necessities to help pass the time comfortably.
Pink Drive is aiming to make the process slightly less difficult for these women with donated care packs. Each care pack will include a variety of provisions, including food and feminine-care products.
Come along to Canal Walk on 1 October at 8.30pm to check out the spectacular lingerie fashion – and while you’re there, you can purchase a Pink Drive Care Pack for just R100 to help support a woman in need.
See you there, Warrior Women!
