With South Africa’s dry summers wreaking havoc on even the most perfectly styled hair, we all could do with an extra tip or two as the hottest months draw closer.
Here are three of our go-to hacks to help with easy styling this summer:
Dry hair with a cotton T-shirt
Frizz can be the worst, especially when you’re at the beach or going to a party. Drying your hair with a cotton T-shirt soaks up the water without ruffling up your hair strands.
Ribbons are the new hair ties
Keeping your hair tied up in a bun or ponytail is the easiest way to keep cool, but having it tied up all day can also lead to killer headaches, straining and hair breakage. Try using a ribbon instead for less pressure, and an even cooler look.
Squeeze a small amount of lemon juice into your hair, and comb it through. The citric acid opens up the hair cuticle lifting the pigment and lightening the colour for an easy (and cost-effective) summer look.
