Meeting friends for drinks after work is always a good idea in the summer. Although ideal, rushing back home for a quick change to freshen up is not always possible. Luckily, we have three genius ways of styling your hair that will suit both the working day and a night out with the girls.

Soft side braid

The easiest hairstyles are in a ponytail. Switch it up by adding a fun braid. Part your hair to one side and start the braid at the nape of your neck. Secure with a hair tie. Gently pull at the braid to create a wispy end. Use a little serum to keep frizz at bay.

The sleek part

You can never go wrong with a centre or side part, especially if you have sleek, straight hair. Not only is the look mature and sexy, it can also be fun. Choose your desired parting, straighten your hair and then add a serum or hair oil for ultimate shine. Add a small braid in your parting for a fun twist.

The classic topknot

The topknot is so popular that it’s now a classic. A timeless hairstyle is everything. There are two ways you can wear this style for both the office and a night out.

  • Messy Pull your hair into a high ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Loosely twist your pony around your hair tie and secure with bobby pins. Pull out hair strands at your temples and around your ears. Set with a little hairspray
  • Sleek and tight Pull your hair into a high ponytail and smooth out with a brush. Secure with a hair tie and pull tight. Part your pony into two sections. Twist one of the sections tightly around your hair tie and secure with a bobby pin. Do the same with the second section. Set with hair spray.

Half up and voluminous

The half up, half down hairstyle can be both girly and sexy. Add a texturising powder to your roots before blow-drying to create volume. When blow-drying in sections, curl your hair with a brush and apply heat, then hold for five seconds. Release the brush and voila – you now have big curls. Part your hair the way you like at the top and secure with a pretty barrette.
