As the days get warmer, we’re all looking for something refreshing to ease us into the balmy summer evenings, and lately, that’s a gin & tonic. Previously loved by an older generation, gin is definitely having a moment. Craft batches, bespoke tonics, and as most drink trends end up, in ice lolly form. At the same time, the timelessness of gin is apparent and no one does it better than the definitive gin masters, Tanqueray.
It took Charles Tanqueray 300 different recipes to arrive at what we know and love about Tanqueray’s gin. It’s zesty, perfectly balanced and distinctly complex for a gin that contains just four botanicals. Gin isn’t supposed to be complicated or gimmicky, it’s a refined drink. What we’re looking forward to this summer is pairing our beloved Tanqueray with the effervescence of tonic and standing firm in our claim that good things don’t always need reinvention, perhaps just a twist.
Tanqueray & Tonic, The T&T
Recognized for its legacy, Tanqueray has recently been voted the Best International Gin in the Sunday Times Lifestyle Gin Awards of 2018. This premium tipple is also made in small batches, in line with everyone’s current obsession with small-batch distilleries.
The only way we’d twist this drink is with a slice of pink grapefruit. Fill a copa glass with cubed ice, pour 50ml of Tanqueray London Dry Gin over the ice, and top with Fever-Tree Indian Tonic water. Stir it slightly and add your slice of grapefruit. Enjoy a summer!
