I think we’re all too familiar with that classic expressionless look often seen on celeb faces, á la Botox. Yet, not everyone’s jumping on the Botox bandwagon. Supermodel Christy Turlington, for example, recently told Vogue US that she’d never consider getting the tox as she is not afraid of ageing naturally: ‘It actually makes me feel happier about my face when I look at people my age…who’ve had it (Botox) done,’ she said. Okay, so Christy Turlington might not be the best example – she is basically flawless. Yet, it does make me wonder whether more celebs would decide to go the non-Botox route.

The company that produces this drug, Allergan, recently reported that the use of Botox is actually shifting from cosmetic to medical. Hoards of people are now using it for its medical healing powers, for example to treat chronic migraines, excessive sweating and more. Clearly, more than just wrinkles are being eliminated here. Perhaps fewer people will use Botox for cosmetic purposes, but will people ever stop in their quest for a more youthful appearance? Not likely.
