Kate Moss turns 40!
The entire week seems like it has built up to this point: the great Kate turns 40 today. A fashion icon of our time, the Calvin Klein model is perhaps most famous for the controversial line: ‘Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.’ It was her response in an interview with WWD magazine in 2009 when answering the question: ‘Do you have any mottos?’
She is not only one of the world’s most famous supermodels, but she is also one of the world’s most effortlessly stylish women. Happy Birthday, Kate!
Google also honours the great Dian Fossey today, as this would have been her 82nd birthday celebration. Known for her extensive study of gorilla groups over a period of 18 years, she is undoubtedly one of the most famous zoologists in the world.
E-tolls cause massive delays with ambulances
It seems as if we are discussing e-tolls every day, and never in a positive way. The lives of people in emergancy situations are in serious danger now that ambulances are being delayed by e-tolling.
Lashing out at the South African National Roads Agency (Sanral), an association representing operators of private ambulance services has condemned the national roads agency’s insistence that all non-government ambulance services fit e-tags to their vehicles if and when they use the Gauteng highways.
‘They will force private ambulance services to use alternative routes. It will lead to delays in responses to emergencies. Alternative routes are not viable. They are congested and not designed for vehicles that are responding to emergencies at high speed,’ said Oliver Wright, the CEO of the SA Private Ambulance and Emergency Services Association.
