Blake Lively is the latest face of L’Oreal
The Gossip Girl and face of Gucci Première has now been chosen as the face of cosmetic giant L’Oréal Paris’ ‘Egerie’ make-up, colouring and hair care product line. She joins the likes of former spokesmodels Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé. We also loved the Olivier Rousteing’s Balmain outfit she chose to wear to the big reveal held by L’Oréal Paris at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris. The pale blue, quilted dogtooth pattern dress – with an off-the-shoulder neckline and box-pleated skirt – was accessorized with a glittering chain link belt at the waist and Christian Louboutin platform pumps. What do you think of her choice?

Terry Richardson losing work
Yes, the controversial photographer known for his racy pictures – and for allegedly abusing his power when it comes to young models – has been ditched by high-end gym chain, Equinox, for which he has been shooting campaigns over the last three years. His photographs have always come under fire by the public for not having very much to do with fitness. Most have viewed them as extreme, sexually driven pseudo-porn, showing model-thin women lounging around in one or other state of undress. Will more companies follow suit and decline Terry’s services?
The inappropriate world of funeral selfies
Yes, ‘funeral selfies’ are now a thing. This is probably the most inappropriate situation we can think of to take a selfie and share it with the world via Instagram. Check out these bizarre posts and let us know what you think:
Instagram has also now decided to lift the band on some previously un-searchable hashtags, previously removed for their salacious nature. For example #sexyback, #foodorgasm, #DuckDynastyBitch and #boobz. #boobs still remain banned. Banned hashtags still include #nude, #weed and #iPhone
Oscar Pistorius faces new gun charges
Oscar Pistorius will now face two new gun charges when his trial begins in March. These charges are not exactly new, as we’ve heard that he accidentally discharged a gun at a Melrose Arch restaurant and that he once fired shots in the air through a car sunroof. The new National Director of Public Prosecutions, Mxolisi Nxasana, has now decided that all charges against Pistorius will now be heard at the same time, in the same court. The picture that is being painted of Pistorius as a trigger-happy sociopath will certainly count against him in his trial.
Yesterday, Johannes Kana was found guilty of the rape and murder of Anene Booysen. Today would have been her 18th birthday. Sentencing will commence today. Kana was also seen caressing a fresh prison tattoo yesterday – 28 in Roman numerals.
