Anna Utopia Giordano shows the world how wrong our idea of the perfect body is in her recent Venus project.
By manipulating the image of Venus in paintings like The Birth of Venus by Botticelli using Photoshop it becomes clear just how much our idea of female beauty has changed. When these painting were painted during the Renaissance, the fuller female form seemed ‘normal’. Today we hardly ever see images of voluptuous women since they are so often snipped down to size (size 6 that is).
Perhaps this desecrated version of the curvy goddess will prove to women that a bit of bulge makes for a beautiful body.
