New York Fashion Week AW18 showed us once again that there are no boundaries on a runway. Here are the highlights from six of the best fashion shows that you need to know about.
1 . Calvin Klein
After revealing the apocalyptic (in a good way) Fall/Winter 2018 collection for his renowned label, Raf Simons is closing New York Fashion Week 2018 with his latest Calvin Klein 205W39NYC collection. Our favorite runway show from the NYFW included contemporary lines with neon orange construction-worker garb, mylar fabric and interpretation of hazmat boots and gloves. In other words, the perfect survival outfit.
2 . Alexander Wang
Wang is currently the most talked about show during New York Fashion Week. The designer added Matrix elements to the working-girl look, with slight touches of metal and colour.
3 . Gypsy Sport
Designer Rio Uribe captivated us at NYFW. Absolute freedom and total creativity are the words to describe the show. Uribe pushed the boundaries of a fashion show by featuring 10-year-old Desmond Napoles, who is famous within the LGBTQ community for being the world’s youngest drag queen. The controversial show pointed to brighter days for for self-expression and we can’t wait to see more.
4 . Jeremy Scott
Straight out of a Sci-Fi movie, Jeremy Scott’s Fall collection lived up to exceptions. The brilliant designer offered us a show worthy of its name paying homage to The Fifth Element movie.
5 . Tory Burch
The Tory Burch AW18 collection took us on an enchanting poetic tour. For the spring inspired collection, the designer turned the runway into a planted garden filled with hundreds of tall pale-pink blooms.
6 . Tom Ford
Tom Ford is bringing the ’80s back with his infamous silhouettes and boxy blazers, while adding a touch of androgyny to his pieces.
7 . Victoria Beckham
Celebrating her 10th year showing at New York Fashion Week, she offered us intense sophistication, calm tones, layering and a whole lot of chicness.
