In just T-minus 24 hours Fenty Beauty will officially release their new Body Lava and Fairy Bomb products available at Fentybeauty.com, Sephora and Harvey Nichols stores. South Africans may not be able to immediately get our hands on the highly coveted products, but we can definitely take delight in seeing Cape Town-born and bred model, the 26-year old Carmen Solomons, as one of the faces fronting Fenty’s latest ad campaign!
Carmen features alonside US models Duckie Thot and Maeve Whalen:
As well as the formidable founder Robyn Rihanna Fenty, A.K.A Rihanna, herself.
Solomons’ Fenty Beauty campaign appearance has garnered immense support and pride since the picture was posted on both Rihanna’s and Fenty Beauty’s Instagram accounts. So much so that Cape Town fashion and beauty blogger Aqeelah Harron Ally’s tweet of praise to the green-eyed beauty was not short of retweets and likes;
Yassss Riri just tweeted our Cape Town bae, Carmen Solomons here in this Fenty campaign pic! 🇿🇦So happy for Carmen she’s an incredible model and a huge Ri fan 🙌🏻 Let’s make a fuss of our girl being a Fenty face, this shot is everything 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 https://t.co/reLDQVi3Ku

Among the declarations of pride was doting fellow Capetonian actor Earl Hendricks;
Carmen Solomons from Kuils River in Cape Town just living her best life being repping one of the biggest beauty brands in the world, Fenty Beauty.
Us Khoi San descendants are doing the damn things in 2018

This is not Carmen Solomons’ first international appearance as a now Los Angeles-based model. Since Solomons was scouted at a modelling show by Boss Models in Cape Town when she was 16, she has worked her way up the global modelling ranks to be a muse in Usher’s 2014 hit single Good Kisser music video, Drake’s One Dance music video, and in 2016 she was featured in Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s holiday clothing campaign amid several more international modelling gigs.
Once you’ve appeared in a Fenty campaign, the only way is up! There’s no doubt that Carmen Solomons is still going to shake many more tables on behalf of Cape Town and South Africa.
