I have literally watched The Devil Wears Prada 15-plus times. It’s the kind of movie you can watch over and over and (I’m going to use this word again) literally not get sick of.
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t watching it mainly because of Emily Charlton, the death-staring, pompous, sharp-tongued but oh-so-loveable first assistant (as she brags about) to Miranda Priestly.
For those of you who didn’t know this, (obviously you’re not a true fan) The Devil Wears Prada is originally a novel written by Lauren Weisberger, which was then adapted into the movie. On Monday the author shared with us on Instagram the cover of the sequel book, called When Life Gives You Lululemons.
In When Life Gives You Lululemons Emily gets her own story, and finds herself, at 36 years old, in Greenwich, Connecticut where she works as a high-end ‘image consultant’ for the rich and famous. The book follows Emily’s journey in saving the reputation of a supermodel/senator’s wife who has a DUI. The story reportedly begins in LA on New Year’s Eve … wait for it… at Gigi Hadid’s house. Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive excerpt from the novel, which gives you a hint at what you can expect. The book is set to be released in early June 2018.
In the meantime, let’s take a fond look back at some of the best Emily moments in The Devil Wears Prada made perfectly perfect by Emily Blunt.
‘Wish me luck!’
‘No, I shan’t.’
